Report a bug
On macOS, use Help → Export Diagnostic Logs… and attach the file to your email, along with the app version and what you were playing. A report without the log is usually a guess on both sides.

Which formats does it play?
Playback runs on libVLC, so the short answer is “the ones a system player refuses” — MKV, ten-bit and unusual codecs, lossless audio tracks, and subtitle formats AVFoundation does not read. If a file will not play, say so in the community with the container and codecs; that is usually enough to tell a missing feature from a broken file.
Which network shares are supported?
SMB, NFS, SFTP, FTP and WebDAV. Vunio browses them itself — you do not mount the share in Finder first, and on iPhone there is nothing to mount at all. Follow the SMB setup guide or the WebDAV setup guide.
How does subtitle search find the right file?
It sends a content hash of the video alongside the title. A hash match means the subtitle was made for exactly those bytes, which survives renaming, and it outranks every other signal except language. Your language preferences are an ordered list, not a single choice.
Why does Assrt need my own token?
Assrt counts its rate limit per token, so a token shipped inside the app would put every user in one bucket and throttle all of them at once. Enter yours in Settings → Assrt. OpenSubtitles works without one.
Do my Mac and my iPhone stay in step?
Playback positions do, through your own iCloud account, so a film started on one device can be finished on the other. It is on by default and can be turned off in Settings. Libraries and settings do not — each device keeps its own.
Is it on the App Store?
Not yet — it is in TestFlight, and it is a beta in the honest sense of the word.
How do I join the beta?
Open the public TestFlight link on your Mac or iPhone. TestFlight will show the compatible Vunio build for that platform. You do not need to join the Discord; it remains optional for support and beta news.
